Yesterday we had an amazing "yarn tasting" at Knotten, the party was planned by Lisanne. And besides a very lovely and inspiring afternoon, we got to try the amazing yarns by Lana Grossa.

When the yarn Lala Berlin Hairy came to the table, opinions were divided. The big question was: "Can you crochet with this yarn?". The answer is: Yes!

But... there are a couple of thing to keep in mind when working with fuzzy, furry or hairy yarn: :
-Use a larger needle, even though the wrapper suggested an 8mm needle, I used a 10mm hook and if you know you have a tight tension, use a 12mm!
-Make your tension as loose as possible.
-It's best to choose a project that is made in the round, because your stitches will al be facing the same direction and it'll be easier to find them.
-Light colors are easier to work with then dark ones.
-Push through, even though making the first row in your starting chains is always a pain, the next rows will definitely be easier.
-If you find it really hard to work with, you can choose to add a different solid yarn to make your stitches visible, but this does take away from the furry effect.

Try it yourself?? Ik made this simple cowl by using 2 balls of Lala Berlin Hairy (160m) and crochet hook 10mm:
Row 1. Start with 42 chains and make 1 slip stitch in the first chain to close the circle, make sure your stitches aren't twisted.
Row 2. Chain 2 (these won't count as first stitch now and throughout) and make 1 double crochet in each stitch around, end with a slip stitch in your first double crochet to join the round.
Row 3 to 20. Repeat row 2. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
