Together with the other "Samenspinsels" member we've made another little countdown calender to valentine's day with creative freebies. This time I've made a little chart with endless possibilities.
Off course it fits right in the theme with this image of a cute little kissing couple also known as The Kiss. For example I've made this potholder.

There are 2 things you need to keep in mind when crocheting a pattern with more colors:
-The prettiest way to change colors is to complete the last step of previous stitch with the new color, for example when the last stitch is a sc, the last yarn over and pull through 2 loops will be with the new color.
-For this pattern you’ll keep changing colors all the time, I’ve carried the colors along while using the second color, this means you’ll hold the yarn of the color you’re not using on top of the stitches you are going to work in, so you won’t see loose threads on the wrong side of your work.

I found this video in which these 2 tips are applied.
I've used crochet hook 3mm and 100% cotton aran weight yarn.

The pattern:
1. Chain 32, 1 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, single crochet in each stitch to end (31 stitches)
2. Turn, chain 1, this chain doesn't count as first stitch now and throughout, single crochet in each stitch to end (31 stitches)
3. to 31 Repeat 2.
During this pattern you'll crochet the chart above.

Edging:
1. With pink: single crochet evenly around all sides of thesquare, in each corner stitch you'll make 3 single crochet.
2. With blue: *1 single crochet, chain 3* repeat around. In the last corner you'll chain 10 in stead of 3 to make the loop for hanging. Weave in your ends and your potholder is done!.

Obviously you can make a lot of  fun things with this chart. For example I've ade a little cross stitch embroidery work, you could include it in your knitting or even make a granny square blanket out of it!
